It's exhilarating to review a book about a fellow talking food. The Smart Cookie narrates her journey from being an edible lacking confidence to a baked good beaming with self-pride. Smart Cookie struggles in school. She is unable to answer questions, take tests, and keep up with her classmates, which keeps her up every night. One day, the teacher, Ms. Biscotti, gave a homework assignment that asked each student to bring in "something original" for the next day. After several failed attempts, Cookie finally realized what she could do: write a poem! So, she did, and after nervously reading it in front of the class, she was surprised by everyone's enthusiastic reaction. From that moment on, Smart Cookie wouldn't let self-doubt stand in the way - a valuable lesson for anyone, delicious treat or not.
